WashingCon is excited to announce another round of panels and events for WashingCon 2017. The newest additions to our roster of events and panels include:
Building Worlds with Keith Baker: What does it take to create a world, whether you're working on an RPG, a novel, or computer game? Where do you begin? How do you engage your audience? How much detail is too much? Join veteran world designer Keith Baker (Eberron, Phoenix: Dawn Command) for a discussion of these and other questions. Keith will host this event from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm as well as 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, September 9th.
The Download: Live Show: Keith Baker and Andrew Looney of Looney Labs have been friends for 30 years. About 18 years ago, when Keith moved to a distant city, Andy and Keith began a tradition they call The Download: each week they call each other up to talk about what they are each working on, what they think about the TV shows they are watching, and the games they are playing. After a few years, the two designers decided to start recording their calls and make a podcast out of them. This will be a live audience recording with a Q and A from the audience at the end. Keith and Andy will host this event at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 10th.
Carcassonne Tournament: Are you a Carcassonne pro? Then you need to play in our tournament. So get out your meeples and carve yourself a little slice of board game France. This is a tournament, so please be familiar with the rules prior to participating. We will host this event from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 10th.
Settlers of Catan Tournament: Enjoy trading wheat for brick? Think you have what it takes to make the longest road? Play in our Settlers of Catan tournament and test your settler skill against the rest. This is a tournament, you should have some familiarity with the rules in order to participate. We will host this event from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 9th.
